Our Story
BP Bartlett Construction was founded by Brian Bartlett in 1986. Initially operated from Brian Bartlett's residence, the business steadily expanded, prompting a move to commercial premises in Wiri, Auckland in 2007. In 2025, we took a big step up, relocating to a modern new office and workshop complex in Drury South — a proper hub for our growing team, and a base we take real pride in keeping well looked after.
Today, BP Bartlett Construction is led by second-generation owners Aaron and Stephen Bartlett, continuing the family's four-decade commitment to quality and care. We process over 1,500 insurance claims annually.
Our Reputation
Our father, Brian Bartlett, built this business on one simple belief: a good name is worth more than any amount of money — a principle drawn from the old proverb that a good reputation is more valuable than great riches. Four decades on, that's still what we stand by. Every job we take on carries the Bartlett name, and we treat it that way.
That doesn't mean we get everything perfect every time — no one does. What matters to us is what happens next: we stand by our work, we put things right, and we deal with every client honestly and with integrity. It's also why we're selective about who we work with. Many of our subcontractors have worked alongside us for years, some for decades — we choose people not just for their skill, but because they're straightforward, reliable, and treat clients the same way we do.
Our Team
Our internal team of 10 covers Estimating, Project Management, Carpentry, Administration, and Accounts. We deliberately keep this core team tight-knit — it's what lets us maintain the long tenure, personal relationships, and consistency our clients and insurers rely on. For the trades on the ground, we work with a trusted network of subcontractors, many of whom have been with us for years, giving us the capacity to handle around 1,500 claims a year without losing the personal touch of a family business.
Meet Our Core Estimating & Project Management Team
-

Aaron
DIRECTOR & ESTIMATOR
Aaron started with the company straight out of school, working his way up from the tools to become a qualified, Licensed Building Practitioner. With decades of hands-on building experience, he's the most experienced builder on our team and brings that knowledge into every report, estimate, and build.
-

Steve
DIRECTOR & PROJECT MANAGER
Stephen also started with the company straight from school, training as an apprentice on the tools before moving into the office. He now oversees project management, our internal building team, and business development — bringing genuine hands-on building experience to everything he manages.
-

Dan
ESTIMATOR
Daniel has been with BP Bartlett for eight years, trained hands-on, one-on-one, by Aaron himself. Over that time he's built deep experience in reporting and estimating, and is a steady, valued member of the team. As one of our estimators, Daniel is often the first face you'll see from BP Bartlett — warm, friendly, and easy to talk to from that very first visit.
-

Amanda
PROJECT MANAGER
Amanda joined the team three years ago, bringing a project management background with her. She's detailed, precise, and methodical in how she runs a job, and just as friendly to deal with.
-

Lu
PROJECT MANAGER
Lu is our most experienced project manager, with over 15 years at BP Bartlett. Efficient, organised, and highly task-focused, she's managed every type of project we take on and is a pleasure to deal with.

Kristy
CLAIMS & SCHEDULING COORDINATOR
Kristy has been with BP Bartlett for over 10 years and is often the first person you'll speak to — organised, friendly, and always ready to help.

Our Admin & Accounts Team
Leah

Esther
ADMINISTRATION & ACCOUNTS
Esther supports the administration and accounts side of the business alongside Leah, and is a valued part of keeping things running behind the scenes.
Accreditation & Standards
Maintaining exemplary health and safety standards while keeping pace with legislative change is one of our core priorities. Guided by HazardCo as our primary advisor, we have achieved SiteWise Gold status and undergone independent verification through IMPAC PREQUAL. IMPAC PREQUAL is a Tōtika Gold Member Scheme provider, so our pre-qualification meets the national CHASNZ Tōtika standard for contractor health-and-safety assurance.
Built for the Way Insurance Works Today
We manage all claims through our cloud-based information system, allowing for remote access to our database from any location. This means faster communication and fewer delays for you and your insurer.
Thinking About Sustainability
Sustainability is something we take seriously, not just as a talking point. We always dispose of waste properly, and where materials or items can be suitably refurbished and reused rather than thrown out, we make a point of doing so. Our modern Drury South premises were chosen with energy efficiency in mind, and we've already added electric vehicles to our fleet, with more planned as we continue to grow. We also plan our team's routes and site visits carefully to cut down on avoidable back-and-forth travel across the city, and we favour working with local subcontractors in the areas we serve, keeping travel and emissions down across every project.
We manage claims through a cloud-based system, which means less paper and printing across our day-to-day admin. We've also completed a Toitū Carbon Assess, giving us a clear, independently benchmarked picture of our carbon footprint as a starting point for reducing it further over time.
It all adds up to a practical way for us to reduce our environmental impact while keeping our operations efficient — good for the planet, and good for how quickly we can get to your job.
